Two Storey House

To check out the structural strength of a tied bunch of bamboos,a two story hutment was constructed with bamboo bunch columns. For beams a bunch of six bamboos was sufficient for a span of 3m.

The load carrying capacity of the structure was very good and for villages this type of construction is ideal. Selection,treatment after harvesting and joinery for the bamboos is of prime importance.
